AT 10 Star Hunting Guides, our goal is to provide an outstanding hunting trip for you. The guides have over 50 years of experience in hunting upland birds and training dogs. Five years ago, with the wild quail population declining, we decided to offer pen raised hunts. Two years ago, we added duck hunting opportunities for our customers.
It is a pleasure for us to share the beautiful site of our pointing dogs backing each other and the anticipation of flushing birds. We strive to make every hunt a life - long memory. Our hunts are held on farms in Canadian and Blaine Counties in Western Oklahoma. The terrain consists of creeks, rolling hills, grasslands, and plum bush thickets. If you like the outdoors, you will appreciate the land and habitat we hunt. We hunt behind German Shorthaired and English Pointers. Our dogs have strong noses, work close to the hunters, and are well behaved.
Our duck hunting trips consist of decoy hunting on private ponds and rivers in Western Oklahoma. Seeing flocks of ducks working into decoys is a thrill for our hunters. We hunt a wide range of ducks including mallards, gadwall, widgeon, teal, pintail and a few wood ducks.
10 Star Hunting Guides is owned by Dick Balenseifen. He and his guides love sharing the outdoors with other hunters. We have the ability to design hunts with open shooting for beginners and tougher wooded area shooting for the advanced hunters.
Hunting Details
Full Day hunts are morning and afternoon with a 1-hour break for lunch. Lunch can be provided in the field, or the hunters can go to a local restaurant while the guide cleans birds and prepares for the afternoon hunt.

Chucker cost $10 per bird when available.
Duck Hunts will be conducted during the Oklahoma duck hunting season. All state and federal guidelines will be followed.
Hunting Details
The combination hunt includes a 2 - hour duck hunt or a limit and a 15 - bird quail hunt.
10 Star provides
land, decoys, dogs and bird cleaning.
Hunters Must Have
Each hunter must provide: gun, non-toxic shells, Oklahoma hunting license, Oklahoma Duck Stamp, Federal Duck Stamp, a plugged shotgun holding no more than 3 shells, snacks and ice chest.
Additional Hunting Info
Hunters always have the option to bring their own dogs on our hunts.
Additional hunts for wild quail, ducks, turkey, and predators are available when the populations on our leased land are enough for a good opportunity at a successful hunt. However, there are no guarantees on wild hunts.
By pure luck I connected with 10 Star and was able to spend the day with Dick hunting. It was a memorable experience because of his passion for his dogs and the hunt. He put us in the right position to shoot as many times as needed, and we did! Great experience.
